French Vogue

This is how the French braid their hair. I must ask all of my french chicas to show me how they put on a simple yet chic look that can follow you from school to cocktail hour. Personally I'd wear these with a long dress and flowery heels. Enjoy these looks and try them on for your own amusement!

Relationships

Piglet sidled up to Pooh from behind.  “Pooh!” he whispered.  “Yes, Piglet?”  “Nothing,” said Piglet, taking Pooh’s paw.  “I just wanted to be sure of you.”   ~ A.A. Milne.

One of the best parts of being in a loving relationship is feeling sure of your partner without having to ask for reassurance! Secure, happy, fulfilled, and protected. Feeling good in your relationship is synonym to how you feel about yourself.

Spring is the time to clean out your wardrobe and store away your winter clothes or send them to the dry cleaners. It is also a time to make lists about absolutely anything and everything you want your summer to be, a time to start anew. Places you want to see, types of flowers you want to smell, what you want to do for fun, etc. Spring is here to make you hope for summer.

DAPHNE GROENEVELD

One of my absolute favorites to see on a catwalk. With her pouty lips and long silver hair, she is a stunner in whatever outfit she wears.

Girl Model on a Friday Night

Hello! Wow, is it already the end of the week? If you've been at school, cramming for exams, working your perfect little butts off (because hey! If ur not gonna tell it to yourself that your beautiful I surely am!) for littles payrolls, you just want to relax, make yourself some hot tea and a steaming bath with lavender salts and candles. But first, I don't want to be a party-pooper but I think what I'm about to show is important and valuable. If you're like me, you love fashion and explode of happiness every time a model flaunts it on the catwalk in awesome shoes and dress to match. And like me, are conscious about where your garments are made and what they are made of, and also about what happens to those beautiful ethereal beings that walk the catwalk like they own it. This is the trailer for a documentary called Girl Model and is described like this by the Abu Dhabi Film Festival.

In rural Siberia, Russian and American model scouts scour remote villages in search of teenage girls to satisfy the Japanese market's unquenchable thirst. For poor, pretty farm girls, the promise of work abroad signifies the rare chance for a new life. David Redmon and Ashley Sabin's provocative documentary explores this dark, seldom-seen segment of the modeling industry through two primary subjects.

Ashley used to be a model in the United States. Now she's a professional scout who is conflicted over the fact that her livelihood depends on recruiting the youngest girls possible based on promises that aren't always realized. Nadya is a 13-year-old country girl from Novosibirsk, Siberia, who embodies the particular kind of youthful innocence so highly sought-after in Japan. Hoping to help support her tight-knit family, she travels to Tokyo, but once there, she finds the frustrating reality of how jobs are booked is much different from what she expected.

Strikingly composed, Girl Model follows its subjects through a frustrating maze of casting sessions, clashes and contradictions. Redmon and Sabin juxtapose video diaries that Ashley recorded from her years as a model with her current life as a scout, revealing the precariousness and complexities of the business from both sides of the coin. As Nadya and the other young girls like her find themselves lost in a harrowing hall of mirrors, will they learn to navigate the modeling world, or wind up returning home in debt to their agencies?

This is very intriguing while hard to watch. I tried to get a hold of a copy of this documentary but its not that easy. Still I will search the endless realm of Internet to watch it in full and make an honest statement on the hypnotizing world of fashion models. Have a nice weekend :)

George Barnett or Modern Day Superhero

If you don't know George Barnett then you better start googling his name right now because he not only is an awesome music composer, singer and writer but also the most generous artist I've ever seen. While strolling on a fantastic torrent site that I will not name in case the canadian government start fooling around in my private settings and finds my name, home adresse, phone number and the name of my cute little wiener of a dog to send me in jail for *LeGASP*OMG* downloading Madonna's latest single, I saw   this....

Isn't he the most awesome person in the world right now? He understands that as a student and broke person, I can't always stroll into the closest music shop to buy a CD that costs 20$ for what? 8 or 9 songs?
So yes, in an era where simple folk like me downloading a whole CD off the internet is considered a greater crime than murder, I would like all of you to bow down to Mr Barnett and thank him with all your heart and a little chorus of ''He's a jolly good fellow''!! Now all of you listen to this hipster, new pop greatness and enjoy!! :D

Have I told you he's barely 18? :)

Welcome

The sun hugs the earth and this is what comes of it...Pure beauty and grace.
This blog was mostly to get all the things I liked from the virtual world to a safe place where I could view them as long as I liked and never lose them in the hassle that has become my computer and all my other storage spaces. This will be kind of an iCloud for me and all of you who stumble upon this blog, may it be by accident or something else but I think mostly by accident :). This blog is young, very young. It was born two days ago but was thought of and yearned for more than a year ago. So yeah! Happy second day my beautiful plain blog that will soon grow (I hope!) into something interesting and fun. So to all my readers (I there are any) welcome to Northern Borealia!
